Representative Bella Abzug (I remember her!) helped pass “Women’s Equality Day” in 1973 to commemorate the 1920 certification of the 19th amendment to the Constitution allowing women to vote. It also highlights womens continuous efforts for full equality, including pay.
I am grateful to Ms. Abzug because her work allowed me to be a financial advisor, a field that most women did not dare enter because it was a “man’s world”. And sometimes it still feels that way, but it is getting more diverse, for which I am grateful.
So, on this day, August 26, let’s remember all the women past, present, and those coming down the pike who will help make this world a better place.
